Diabetes happens when or pancreas is unable to produce
insulin. Insulin is important because it allows glucose (which
is blood sugar in layman's terms) enter the cells of the body.
The cells use it for energy. When there is no insulin, too much
sugar is stored in the blood. And that is the part when it can
get really dangerous because too much sugar in the blood can
lead to damages in the following areas: eyes, heart, blood
vessels, nerves and others.
It has always been said that prevention is better than
finding a cure right. Well, you can actually prevent it by
having some kind of a regular exercise and keeping track of
what you eat and how much you eat. If you are overweight, try
and lose a little weight. Always be within your weight range
for your height. This can actually prevent you from getting
diabetes or if it is inevitable, delay the disease.
